Anza Electric Cooperative & The Community
Anza Electric Cooperative and its partners are teaming up to deliver products that
improve the lives of our community members. Please read more on how we are doing
this.
Get Charged Program
Anza Electric Cooperative, a Touchstone Energy cooperative, and Discovery
Channel School are pleased to provide the students of our area with an exciting
way to learn about electricity!
Discovery Channel School has partnered with Touchstone Energy cooperatives across
the country to create this comprehensive electricity curriculum. The kit is correlated
to National Science Education Standards and is designed specifically for 5th to
9th grade students and teachers. It teaches real-world understanding of the power
and purpose of electricity and explains the vital role cooperatives played in bringing
power to rural America. /p>
This project is made possible because your local electric cooperative is a part
of Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, a national branding alliance that helps cooperatives
communicate their unique relationships with their consumers, educate employees,
build relationships with their member-owners and raise awareness about cooperatives
in general.
Each of the local schools were each given a Get Charged! kit. If you’re a member
of any homeschooling group and are interested in borrowing a kit, please contact
Anza Electric Cooperative, Inc. at 951-763-4333 or aec@anzaelectric.org. We’ll be
glad to set something up.
This educational initiative is just one more way your cooperative demonstrates its
committment to the communties it serves.
